Easy Trick To Make Sitting Not AS Bad For You
If you sit a lot—whether it’s for work, driving, or just relaxing on the couch—chances are your hip flexors are tight. Like, glued-shut tight.
And the crazy thing is, most people don’t even realize it until their back starts hurting, their posture crumbles, or they feel like they can’t stand fully upright after a long day.
It’s one of the most common issues I see, especially for people over 35.
When you spend most of your day in a seated position, your hip flexors stay shortened for hours at a time.
Over time, they adapt to that position—and that tightness starts pulling everything out of alignment.
But there’s one simple move that helps open everything back up: the kneeling hip flexor stretch.
It targets the exact muscles that get shortened from sitting, helps realign your pelvis, and takes pressure off your lower back. Plus—it’s stupid simple to do.
Here’s how:
Kneel on one leg like you're proposing
Squeeze your glute on the side of the back leg
Keep your chest tall and gently shift forward until you feel a stretch in the front of your hip
Hold for 30–45 seconds, then switch sides
Do this once or twice a day, especially after long sitting sessions, and your hips will thank you.
But this is just one piece of the puzzle.
If your body’s been feeling tight, achy, or just older than it should… I put together a full step-by-step guide to help you fix it. It’s called Reset Your Body—and it’s designed specifically for people who want to move better, feel younger, and undo the damage from years of neglect.
You don’t need hours a day. Just the right exercises, in the right order.
